Rachel Carson's Silent Spring

Rachel Carson, the author of the book Silent Spring, is an extremely talented and skilled woman. Her book consists of many lessons to be learned and current issues that need to be considered. For example, the idea that one shouldn't take what big corporations say as a fact is important. Next, the usage of pesticides is talked about. Basically, we are all under the impression that pesticides are unharmful and nothing but good when in reality, they do more harm than good! Carson talks about the real truth of DDT and it's harmful effects on everything, including the people, the wildlife, and the environment as a whole.
The title Silent Spring holds significance because it symbolizes a spring with no birds or chirping of birds because of their deaths due to DDT.
